Becoming a Mom for the second time

For those of you who may know I am pregnant and about to give birth to my second child. My two kids will be about 18 months apart. So this experience will be another wild ride for me and my growing family. For those of you who are thinking of having children close in age, I say go for it but here are some of the hiccups I have experienced throughout my whole 9 months.

Since you already have a growing toddler who is learning new stuff everyday ( example walking/running) make sure to know that your resting period when you are tired in your first trimester won’t be the same as when you used to be alone, just you and your significant other. As you get bigger your day to day chores get a lot tougher, Your toddler sees changes in you but doesn’t quite understand what is happening. Since you still have appointments to take for your toddler a calendar is a must to make sure you don’t forget anything because believe me pregnancy brain is a thing! If your toddler goes through sleep changes…(such as mine, a 17 month regression) be ready to have to cut on your sleeping habits.

Looking at it on the bright side your kids will be close in age. You have been changing diapers for the last 20 months so might as well continue and this time around it might come a little easier since you know what to expect in the early stages.

There will definitely be many struggles that will come into play. Such as sickness and sleep deprivation but in all good time a new schedule should be developed for everyone. I will let you in on my new journey when it starts so that those who are contemplating on having their children close in age maybe I can give you some insight on what to expect.
