First-Time Parent Tips we all need to know

So your little bundle of joy is coming soon and the emotion of panic is starting to kick in. We all hear different stories about other people’s experiences but we really cannot predict what to expect.

Here are a few generic tips on becoming a new parent:

  • Make sure to sleep when the baby is sleeping.
  • Wash your hands a lot before holding your baby for any unexpected germs.
  • Have someone call in case you need help. To not feel overwhelmed.
  • Never shake your newborn, whether in play or in frustration.
  • As a newborn always hold your baby’s head and neck.
  • Soothing and bonding with your baby are important, even if you are exhausted make sure to enjoy every moment even if you are overwhelmed.
  • If your baby is crying a lot might mean they are hungry even if it is not every 3 hours, all baby’s are different.
  • Never leave your baby unattended on the changing table, and also prepare all your changing supplies near you, so you don’t have to scramble.
  • Swaddle your baby. Some baby’s do not like swaddling but if yours does it really helps them sleep.
