Making the homemade dough is the key trick to some of the best pizzas.

This dough recipe is my favorite. It was given to me by one of my favorite pizza dough makers. It is fast easy and rises really fast. There are two ways you can make this dough, if you like thick fluffy dough you can let it rise longer, but if you are in a rush and need a fast pizza you can also just let it rise for 1 hour and WOW! you have a great pizza just in time for supper.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast (pizza yeast works best, but you can use fast-rising yeast also)
  • 4 cups flour (00 Flour works best, but you can use all-purpose flour)

Instructions

  1. In a small cup add 1 of the 2 cups of warm water in a bowl and add the yeast, mix together, and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl add, salt, sugar, olive oil, and remaining water. Turn mixer on low.
  3. Start to add flour one cup at a time. Until all 4 cups have been incorporated.
  4. Finally, add your yeast mixture.
  5. Mix at a higher speed for about 5 minutes or until a ball of dough is formed.
  6. Take out the dough from your mixer. On a floured surface knead into a smooth ball. *if the dough is to sticky add a bit of flour*
  7. Grease a medium-sized bowl with olive oil.
  8. Add dough ball inside. Pour a dash of olive oil on top of the dough.
  9. Cover the dough bowl with a dishcloth and put it in the oven (with the light on). let sit for 1hr.
  10. After 1hr take the dough out of the oven and cut it into 2 pieces. Prepare 2 pizza trays greased with a bit of olive oil stretch out one pizza ball at a time on the trays. Cover each tray with a dishcloth and put it back in the oven with the light on for another 30minutes.
  11. While your dough is rising, prepare all the garnishes you wish to add to your pizza.
  12. After the dough has risen for a second time. Take it out of the oven set it aside.
  13. Preheat oven to 500 degrees celsius
  14. Before garnishing with your favorite topping, stretch out your dough just a little bit to make it just perfect. Finally, garnish your pizza with the toppings of your choice.
  15. Cook in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Serve
