This homemade recipe is very popular during the holidays. Crespelle is a form of sweet fried dough, topped off with icing sugar or honey. There are many different ways of calling this dessert. My family calls it “crespelle”

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 egg egg
- 1/2 cup water if needed
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Optional icing sugar
- Optional Honey
Instructions
- I recommend you quadruple this recipe, to get a good amount.
- Using a mixer, mix all ingredients together until dough is formed.
- Add water if consistency is too thick.
- Remove dough out of the mixer and place it on a floured surface.
- Cut small pieces (about 6 ) and start to pass it through your pasta maker, like you would lasagna.
- Place your dough on a table cloth that you sprinkled with flour. Make sure your dough is thin.
- Once all dough is done. Cut the pasta lasagna into thirds.
- Tie them together like a knot.

- Not too tight. In a tall pot filled halfway with oil. Turn your burner on, on medium heat. Make sure your oil is hot enough before placing your dough inside.
- Start placing your dough inside one knot at a time up to 2-3 depending on the size of your pot. They shouldn’t take longer than 30-45 seconds to puff up and be ready to take out.
- Place in a box covered with Scott towel to absorb some of the oil or on a well-covered surface so no oil seeps through.
- Once cooled a bit, sprinkle icing sugar or honey on top.
