Let’s discuss the true meaning of being a mom. It is definitely something that cannot be taught in school. You never thought you could love someone so much until you met your “Mini”. The challenges that come at you is something you hope you will laugh at when they are all grown up.
CHANGES
A lot changes in your life, not only your life in general but your values and your meaning. You are a mom now and you are caring for these young humans and all they know is “you” and all you want to do is keep them safe.
In the very beginning you took other people’s opinion up until being a mom yourself. Before being a mom everyone had some sort of advice to give you about what you should and should not do, well those opinions were thrown out the door the moment your little one arrived.
ENJOYING EVERY MOMENT
You will forever be tired. You will break your head on what to feed them and definitely panic when they do not eat. (don’t worry they will never starve). A lot of stuff you worried about before doesn’t really matter anymore. Going out is fun for a little break but your mind will always be at home thinking if your kids are ok.
For the next 5 years you will feel like all you talk about with other people is about your kids. Your coffee will always be cold or lost around the house. (I think I heat mine up at least once or twice before I finally get to finish it). Nothing will ever be clean again, but you know what WHO CARES because time flies and before you know it all this will be behind you. So all that to say is enjoy each moment and make a lot of memories! You can clean your house another day. (or maybe tidy up when they are sleeping lol)
MOMMY ME TIME
One thing you should always remember that even after having kids, you are “mom” to them yes, but you are still someone too. So take the time you need to shower, get out, drive around, because you need to feel good for them to be okay.
