My nonna’s famous sugar pizza! It is super simple and brings back so many memories every time I make it. So the next time you make homemade pizza set aside one dough ball for dessert. If you don’t have a good pizza dough recipe, you can find mine here.

Ingredients

  • One ball of pizza dough
  • Granulated sugar
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Stretch out your pizza dough on your tray. Let rise for 45 minutes or so.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
  3. After your dough has risen, add a bit of olive oil (brush it on) top about 3 tablespoons. Make sure to cover all the dough but do not drench it.
  4. Sprinkle granulated sugar all over the pizza. For a rectangular pizza tray it’s about 1/4 cup.
  5. Cook for about 20 to 25 minutes or until you see the dough browned.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

The amount of sugar varies, you can add more if you like it sweeter.
