Ingredients

  • For the burger filling:
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground chicken, turkey, or beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • For the wraps:
  • 4–6 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 tomato, diced (optional)
  • Sliced pickles (optional)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped red onion (optional)
  • Homemade burger sauce:
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

Make the burger sauce

Mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and garlic powder in a small bowl until smooth.

1. Cook the meat

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add ground meat and break it apart with a wooden spoon.
  4. Season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce if using.
  6. Cook until the meat is completely cooked through. Ground poultry should reach 74°C (165°F).

2. Assemble the wraps

  1. Lay a tortilla flat.
  2. Spread a spoonful of homemade burger sauce in the center.
  3. Add a generous scoop of cooked meat.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the meat.
  5. Add lettuce. Add tomatoes, pickles, and red onion if desired.
  6. Fold the sides inward and roll tightly.

3. Make them crispy

  1. Heat a clean skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place each wrap seam-side down.
  3. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Remove from the pan, slice in half, and serve warm!

Notes

For picky eaters: Keep the filling simple! Just meat, cheese, and a little ketchup. Serve the vegetables on the side. For extra crispy wraps: Lightly brush the outside with olive oil before grilling. For meal prepping: Cook the burger filling ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 3–4 days. Assemble the wraps when you’re ready to eat. For a healthier version: Use lean ground turkey or chicken, whole-wheat tortillas, and Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise in the sauce.
