As a mom you always need some YOU time, that does not mean you have to take a week off it means you just have to find the little time to make you happy. Being a mom is a HUGE job, a job no one teaches you how to be, there is no book, no guideline and no real lesson to it. When you become a mom your whole like changes, you now have a mini human that depends on you for EVERYTHING. It is always good to remember that finding time for yourself as a mother is essential for maintaining mental and emotional well-being.
Prioritize Self-Care: Very important to schedule time for yourself—whether it’s 15 minutes a day or a few hours a week. Also small breaks count such as; enjoying a cup of hot coffee, practicing deep breathing this all can can help recharge your energy. Delegate and Share Responsibilities: Don’t do everything yourself, ask for help when you need it, ask your partner, family members, or trusted friends for help with childcare. Plan Playdates: Arrange playdates with other parents, so you can have another mom to chat with. Maximize Nap and Bedtime: This is a BIG one use your child’s nap time or bedtime as an opportunity to do something for yourself—whether it’s reading, taking a bath, or just relaxing. (I do this all the time) Combine Activities: Listen to an music or podcasts while doing household chores or taking a walk with the kids. Exercise at home with online workout videos while your child plays nearby Social Connections: Even if you can’t have hour long conversations try to stay connected with friends through quick phone calls, video chats, or even texting. Creative Outlets and Hobbies: I always do these. Pursue hobbies that are manageable in short bursts, like baking, cooking, crafting or gardening (these are things I enjoy).
So time for yourself doesn’t mean you need to just leave, it’s also how to learn to make time for yourself with your kids around. These little steps and little moments for yourself throughout your day really does help your day.
