Do you love nutella? Well you have finally found the BEST nutella cookie recipe ever! I won’t lie they do take time to make, so make sure you keep a few hours aside when you decide the day you are going to make them. Even though the process is long, you must try making these.
Ingredients
- 4 Eggs
- 1 1/2 Cups of Sugar
- 1 Cup of Orange Juice
- 1 LB of Crisco Shortening (454G) room temperature
- 7 Cups of Flour (depending on how soft the dough is)
- 1 Jar of Nutella
- Icing Sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Mix together eggs, sugar, orange juice and shortening.
- Gradually add one cup of flour at a time.(This dough is a very soft dough, so as you add the flour make sure it stays soft but you can still roll it out)
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Prepare baking pans.
- Using a rolling pin, roll out your dough (take small pieces of dough at a time)
- Using a wine glass or cup about 2inches round, cut out circles in your dough and place it on your baking sheet. (the key to making this recipe successful is making sure your dough is rolled very thin). If the dough is still too soft when rolling it out, you can add more flour, on your rolling pin or on the surface you are rolling on.
- Using a coffee spoon, spoon about 1/2 tablespoon of nutella on all your circled cookies.
- Add the tops of your cookies and seal with your fingers or fork.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees F.
- Half way through, turn your baking sheet around.
- Once your cookies are finished, let cool and sprinkle icing sugar on top.
Notes
Because of the shortening this dough is SUPER soft, so you can let it chill in the fridge about half an hour before rolling it out, or just keep adding flour to your rolling pin and rolling surface to help you roll it out. Also when rolling out your dough make sure you roll it out very thin, this is the key to an amazing nutella cookie.
